Locations of the Earth Observation Technology Cluster

The Earth Observation Technology Cluster is based at the University of Nottingham, but works nationally and internationally. We warmly welcome participation from all members of the Earth Observation community.

Cluster activities include consideration of the full range of Earth Observation operation, from new platform and sensor development, through image retrieval and analysis, to data applications and environmental modelling. Five key themes are being investigated in depth, including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, LiDAR, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, hyper-temporal modelling and polar applications.

The Cluster aims to engage a wider Earth Observation community through workshops, demonstrations and networking to promote these technological advances. The Technology Cluster is organised by a consortium representing a wide range of interests:
• research and higher education via the Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society;
• industry via the British Association of Remote Sensing Companies; and
• and existing EO activities at the Natural Environment Research Council (the National Centre for Earth Observation).

The consortium represents hundreds of organisations and thousands of researchers, developers and users of Earth Observation technology. The map below shows just a fraction of them. Please see below to add your details and grow our community.
